Maurer’s Market Gives Back Because It Feels Right

Janesville, WI –The Janesville Police department received an early holiday gift in the form of a $2,500 check from Maurer’s Market owner, Jeff Maurer.  The donation was accepted by Chief David Moore at their most recent city council meeting.

When asked ‘why’ the donation to the police department, Jeff explained, “At a previous meeting, I asked the council how could we help our community?  While there were several good suggestions, the one that just felt right to me was the request by the Police Chief to help furnish their squad cars with some necessary equipment that would assist in keeping the community and officers safe.”

The Janesville Police Department's mission is to enhance the quality of life in Janesville by working cooperatively with the community and providing for a safe environment.  Similarly, Maurer’s Market is a firm believer that family-owned businesses are also an essential part of strong communities.  The family-owned Maurer’s Market focus is on smaller, full-service grocery stores that meet the unique needs of their community of shoppers, with fresh, nutritious and high-quality groceries so that patrons can feel good about eating and feeding their family.

“When it comes right down to it, we believe in giving back and we’re just doing our part to be a really good grocery store for the good people of Janesville.  Some people might find that old fashioned, but we just call it ‘doing the right thing’.”

The community we serve want friendly service from our staff and they want local products at the peak of freshness so they can feel good about eating and feeding their family. We look forward to supporting our new friends, neighbors and family and doing our best to offer fair pricing with our IGA private label and national brand. “ The Maurers are also co-owners of Fresh Madison Market, located on the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus. That small-store format has been serving the campus community since 2010

There are no changes planned for the ACE Hardware portion of the store.  “We look forward to cross promoting the two businesses and continuing to offer the convenience of a one-stop shop for our DIY customers.  Customers can expect to find kitchen accessories, hardware and grilling accessories as well as seasonal inventory,” said Jeff.
